Stories have no choice
but to come into being.
Every model and every story
rests on something underlying –
anchored in something no one can describe.
Yet it is what we build everything upon.
If we follow the anchor chain far enough
down into the unknown,
it does not lead to the anchor.
Because the anchor is not.
You are.
In that realization,
the self rushes toward solid ground.
Up to the surface.
Just like that.
Now you stand in a new place.
An observer of the story –
where you found the anchor.
Solid ground beneath your feet.
By refusing to be the foundation –
and instead walking upon it.
The self created a new story –
and cast anchor again.
Now you witness what you saw
from a new place.
Both from the outside and the inside –
at the same time.
Consciousness grows
by consuming its previous form.
Belief is stronger than we think.
Paradoxically,
not in the way
people think.
And at the same time –
exactly so.
It divides itself
into infinite stories.
Created by the assumptions
of how the chain is attached
to the anchor.
They can be built
as long as you like.
Because consciousness experiences itself
through separation,
where one part is veiled in shadow.
Another link can always
be added to the chain.
Even insight is a link
added to the chain.
Who really believes the most?
The scientist who counts the links of the chain and says,
“Something like this!”,
or the one who sees
that the anchor is the scientist?
The answer depends on how you toss the coin.
And how you catch it.
Every day is a day
when a wild, free consciousness
casts anchor into the darkness –
and calls it real.
And perhaps it’s fortunate
that the coin always lands on one side.
Because if it didn’t –
no one would remain
to read the answer.
